Some Photography Tips
- Posed groups of 2-5 people work best in small photos.
- Take several photos of each group - someone may have their eyes closed in a single shot.
- Set aside things like your subjects' drinks and handbags, and possibly remove any large nametags while they are being photographed.
- If your event is activity-based, please feel free to submit a photo of runners at the starting line, bicyclists on a trail, etc.
- Candid shots are also fine - a group of attendees mingling, people dancing, bidders at an auction, etc.
Submission requirements
- Names must be provided for all people in posed photos. (You may want to have the photographer record names just before or after snapping each photo).
- Submissions should include a contact name and phone number for someone at the organization in case there are questions about the photo or event.
- We'll accept prints/negatives and slides/transparencies. Digital images will be accepted in TIFF or JPEG format, CMYK (not RGB) at 304.8 dpi, and can be emailed or provided on disk (FTP instructions can be provided for large files).
- Photos should be sharp, with good color and contrast. Digital photos must not appear pixilated.
- Horizontal photos only, or photos that can be cropped to a horizontal shape.
- Submit as many photos as you wish; however, we will likely use just one photo per event.
- Photos will be returned through the mail; CDs will be returned if requested.
- There is no photo usage payment for submissions, but photographers' credits will be given if provided with photo.
